The Auto Repair Process
While your vehicle is in our shop it will go through a series of procedures that make up the repair process. Here is a brief overview of each step:
The first step is to get an estimate written for the damages on your vehicle. We are a direct repair shop for many insurance companies which permits us to write their estimates. Some insurers require their own adjuster or an independent appraiser to prepare an
estimate for them. We can work directly from these estimates also. If you are unsure about your insurance company's policies, please feel free to call our office and we will be happy to assist you.
Once you have your estimate, we will schedule your be repair. This allows us time to order any necessary parts and keep your repairs as time efficient as possible.
Once we begin repairs, your car will go through 'tear down'. This means we will disassemble it and check for hidden damage and order additional parts if needed.. An example would be removing a bumper and finding damaged bumper brackets behind it. Again, some insurance companies may require an independent appraiser to inspect these hidden damages prior to authorizing them.
After 'tear down' is complete, repair work can begin. This stage may include replacing parts, alignments, straightening the frame on our frame machine, etc. The length of this process is proportionate to the severity of damage to your vehicle. We will keep you updated frequently as to what is being done.
Painting is generally required to restore your car to its pre-accident condition. Afterwards, your car will be ready for final assembly of trim items and any needed mechanical repairs. .Afterwards, your car is cleaned and any striping or decals are applied.
Lastly, we perform a multi – point inspection of your car to ensure that it is fully restored to its’ pre-accident condition.
Your car is now ready to be delivered!
